What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply a dummy text (meaning the end is the form and not the content) of the printing and publishing industries. Lorem Ipsum was and is still valid for a text in the fifteenth century, a randomly unknown group of text, to form a booklet of 22 reference or formality of the method. What's his origin?
Contrary to popular belief, Lorim Epsom is not a random text, but has roots in classical Latin literature since 45 BC, making it more than 2,000 years old. Professor Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at the University of Hampden-Sydney in Virginia, searched for the origins of the mysterious Latin word in Lorim Epsom's text consectetur, and while following that word in Latin literature he discovered the unquestionable source. It turns out that the words of Lorim Epsom's text come from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum", written by Cicero in 45 BC. This book serves as a lengthy scientific article in ethics theory, and was very popular in the Renaissance. The first line of Lorim Epsom's "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet.." comes from a line in section 1.20.32 of this book.
For those interested, we have put the standard Lorim Epsom text, which has been in use since the 15th century, below. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum were also provided in their original versions, accompanied by English copies translated by H. Rackham in 1914.
What's his use?
A long-established fact is that the readable content of a page will allow the reader to focus on the external shape of the text or the shape of the paragraphs on the page he reads. Therefore, the Lorim Epsom method is used because it gives a fairly natural distribution of characters instead of using "Here there is text content, here there is text content", making it look (i.e. characters) like readable text. Many desktop publishing programs and web page editing programs are virtually used by Lorim Epsom as a text model, and if you enter lorem ipsum in any search engine, many recent sites will appear in search results. Over the years, new and different versions of Lorim Epsom's text have emerged, sometimes by accident, and sometimes deliberately introducing some humorous phrases into it.
